National Small Business Week <br /> honors the contribution of the nation's small business owners. The winners are selected on <br /> their record of stability, growth in employment and sales,financial condition, innovation. <br /> response to adversity, and community service. <br /> On Wednesday, May 7,2002, Mrs. Council was recognized as North Carolina's Small Business <br /> Person of the Year. She was selected as third mnner up as National Small Business Perron of <br /> the Year from among other small business persons representing the M states,the District of <br /> Columbia, Puerto Rico, and Guam. The attached resolution recognizes and honors Mildred <br /> Council for this achievement. General Information on Mrs. Council's achievement is attached <br /> for reference purposes. <br /> FINANCIAL IMPACT: None <br /> RECOMMENDATION(S): The Manager recommends that Me Board approve the resolution <br /> and authorize the Chair to sign it. <br />
