_5~ <br />NORTH CAROLINA <br />ORANGE COUNTY <br />RESOZVTYON OF THE ORANGE COUNTY 80ARD OF EDUCATION <br />WHEREAS, The Orange County Board oL• Education plans to <br />construct a new middle school in the school district and needs to <br />acquits a suitable site fox the said middle school.; <br />AND, WHEREAS, the orange County Board of Education has the <br />option to purchase three parcels of land containing collectively <br />47.221. acres from Owen L. Allison and Mabel C. Allison for a total <br />purchase price of $550,000.00, said property being described in a <br />memorandum recorded in Book 3192 at Page 329 of the orange County <br />Registry; <br />AND, WHEREAS, the Orange County Board of Education also has <br />the option to purchase an adjacent parcel of land containing 19.865 <br />acres from Lonnie Bryant naniel and Karen Baird Daniel. for a total <br />purchase price of $225,000.00, said property being descxibed i:n a <br />memorandum recorded in Book 31,92 at Page 332 of the Orange Cou:zty <br />Registry; <br />AND, WHEREAS, the said properties have been surveyed and soil <br />borings have been conducted indicating a favorable ;location fo:r a <br />middle school on the said properties; <br />AND. WHEREAS, orange County and the City of Mebane have <br />entered into a water and sewer extension agreement that w:Lll <br />provide water and sewer services to the said site; <br />AND, WHEREAS, it appsaxE that said site is suitable for t:he <br />location of a middle school; <br />AND, WHEREAS, The Orange County Board of Education only needs <br />approximately 41 acres of the said site for the middle school and <br />has 5524,800,00 budgeted for the purchase of the middle school, <br />site, however the Allison Option does not allow for a purchase of <br />leas than al.l of the Allison property nor does the Daniel allow for <br />a purchase of less than all of the Daniel property; <br />AND, WHEREAS, the options will expire on March is, 2004 unlE:ss <br />exercised by that date; <br />BE IT RESOLVED, the Orange County Board of Education requee~ts <br />that the Orange county Board of County Commissioners provide <br />funding for the purchase by the Orange County Board of Education in <br />its name of approximately 41 acres of the properties of Owen L. <br />Allison and Mabel C, Allison and Lonnie Bryant Daniel and Karen <br />Baird Daniel necessary for the middle school and that the Orange <br />County Doard of County Commissioners purchase the remaining <br />approximately 26.106 acres of the property of Owen L. Allison and <br />Mabel C, Allison and Lonnie Bryant Daniel and Karen Daird Daniel <br />
