Since that time OCS officials have enlisted the support of Orange County staff <br />and others to review and assess potentially suitable sites for the new middle school, The Board <br />of Education has determined that it wishes to build the school on a portion of approximately 67 <br />acres of property located in the Efland area between Interstate 40/85 and West Ten Road, <br />In June 2003, the Board of Commissioners appropriated funds that allowed the Board of <br />Education to enter into options to purchase the parcels comprising those 67 acres (and another <br />33+ acres immediately to the east -that property will be discussed during the second portion of <br />this abstract). The purchase options for the 67 acres (referred to elsewhere as the Allison and <br />Daniel properties) expire on March 15, 2004, There is an opportunity to extend these options, <br />
