19 <br /> Orange County Juvenile Crime Prevention Council Meeting <br /> Friday,August 5, 2022 (12:OOnoon—2:OOpm) <br /> Virtual Zoom Meeting <br /> Proposed Minutes <br /> Attendees: Sharron Hinton, Kysha Thompson,Amy Fowler, Carol McClelland, Gayane Chambless, <br /> Laurie Williamson,Hathaway Pendergrass, Crista Collazo,Lateef Mitchell,Amanda Farris, <br /> Bernard Miles,Jamie Jacobs, Lucy Battles, LaDanna Strong, Susan Worley, Val Hanson, David Carter, <br /> Eddie Crews (*Members in bold) <br /> Absent: Tina Sykes, Rachel Gessouroun, Dana Crews <br /> Excused: Charlos Banks, Jon Berkeley, Tami Pfeifer <br /> Welcome <br /> The meeting opened with a welcome from Chair, Sharron Hinton, and introductions. <br /> Minutes Review and Approval <br /> The Council reviewed the minutes from April 2022. Carol McClelland motioned for minutes to be <br /> approved and was seconded by Amy Fowler. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> The Council reviewed the minutes from May 2022. Amy Fowler motioned for minutes to be approved <br /> and was seconded by Carol McClelland. Motion carried. <br /> The Council reviewed the minutes from June 2022. Carol McClelland motioned for minutes to be <br /> approved and was seconded by Amy Fowler. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> JCPC Business <br /> Nominating Committee— Carol McClelland, Committee Chair <br /> Currently, one nomination has been received for Chair and one nomination has been received for Vice <br /> Chair. Sharron was nominated for Chair and accepted the nomination; Carol McClelland was nominated <br /> for Vice Chair and accepted the nomination. The floor is open for any additional nominations. Hearing no <br /> additional nominations, Hathaway Pendergrass motioned to close nominations from the floor. The <br /> Council unanimously voted to appoint Sharron Hinton as Chair. The Council unanimously voted to <br /> appoint Carol McClelland as Vice Chair. <br /> Meeting Calendar— <br /> Reviewed meeting calendar for upcoming fiscal year. We will continue to meet every other month and <br /> will keep with the virtual format since that seems to be most convenient for members. Please mark the <br /> meeting dates on your calendars for the coming year. <br /> Workplan Calendar— <br /> We have a schedule of events and activities throughout the year, so this outlines the timelines and <br /> activities that we need to complete, as well as the reporting that is required by the State. This is for your <br /> information and review so that you can see where we are with respect to following through with our <br /> necessary mandates and activities. <br />
