She said <br /> 5 PORCH Hillsborough is a dynamic volunteer group to help with food insecurity. She said that <br /> 6 they applied for Outside Agency Funding. She said they partner with Orange County Schools, <br /> 7 the county, and Cedar Grove for stocking pantries and making food distributions. She said she <br /> 8 hopes that their funding grant will be supported. She said she was happy to see the 10% funding <br /> 9 increase for schools. She said she hopes the increase helps keep teachers in the classroom. <br /> 10 She said that Orange County Schools have increased Title I schools, and students qualifying for <br /> 11 free and reduced lunch. She said families need support. She asked the Board to approve the <br /> 12 10% increase for schools. She said she supported the increase for Fairview Park. Adult Care Home Community Advisory Committee —Appointment Discussion <br /> 25 The Board considered an appointment to the Adult Care Home Community Advisory Committee. <br /> 26 <br /> 27 BACKGROUND: The Adult Care Home Community Advisory Committee works to maintain the <br /> 28 intent of the Adult Care Home Residents' Bill of Rights for those residing in licensed adult care <br /> 29 homes. The members of this committee also promote community involvement and cooperation <br /> 30 with these homes to ensure quality care for the elderly and disabled adults. <br /> 31 <br /> 32 The Board of County Commissioners appoints all ten (10) members. <br /> 33 <br /> 34 REMINDER: As of July 1, 2017, House Bill 248 was adopted in the North Carolina General <br /> 35 Assembly regarding the training period for pending members of the"Adult Care Home Community <br /> 36 Advisory Committee and Nursing Home Community Advisory Committee".
