ORANGE COUNTY <br /> NORTH CAROLINA <br /> PLANNING and INSPECTIONS <br /> Cy Stober,AICP,Director I cstober@orangecountync.gov 1131 W.Margaret Lane,Hillsborough,NC 27278 919.245.2575 <br /> MEMORANDUM <br /> DATE: June 5, 2023 <br /> TO: Orange County Board of County Commissioners <br /> Bonnie Hammersley, Orange County Manager <br /> Travis Myren, Orange County Deputy Manager <br /> CC: Cy Stober, Planning & Inspections Director <br /> FROM: Tom Altieri, Senior Planner <br /> RE: Comprehensive Land Use Plan — Consultant Contract Amendment <br /> The purpose of this Information Item is to notify the Board of a forthcoming <br /> Comprehensive Land Use Plan (CLUP) contract amendment to include additional <br /> meetings between the BOCC and consultant, Clarion Associates, LLC. <br /> At its May 16, 2023 meeting, the BOCC received a presentation from staff and <br /> discussed aspects of the consultant's deliverables prior to approving the contract. In <br /> response to comments received, Planning staff has begun discussions with Clarion's <br /> Project Manager to identify the best times during the planning process to incorporate <br /> the additional meetings. More specifically, these meetings will be scheduled as work <br /> sessions to be held separately from the Board's regularly scheduled meetings and <br /> timed to coincide with the outreach windows offered through the existing contract. <br /> The CLUP project kick-off will take place during the third week of July and will begin <br /> with stakeholder interviews to include members of the BOCC and Planning Board, <br /> among others.
