Please describe any <br />ways in which low- <br />income or marginalized <br />communities/househol <br />ds were engaged in the <br />creation of this project <br />proposal: <br />Human services advocates working with marginalized communities across the <br />Town of Chapel Hill were engaged in the creation and prioritization of <br />projects in the Town’s adopted Climate Action and Response Plan. Project <br />ideas were generated and prioritized through community workshops and a <br />survey, and the adopted plan reflects the input of 9 advisory boards and more <br />than 35 public and private organizations, each representing a different set of <br />community perspectives. This proposed project helps to implement that plan. <br />16. Please describe any <br />potential negative side <br />effects of the project <br />and describe the steps <br />you are taking/will take <br />to eliminate or <br />minimize these impacts <br />to any low-income or <br />marginalized <br />communities/househol <br />ds: <br />None <br />17. Are the impacted <br />residents already <br />aware of the potential <br />positive and negative <br />impacts of your project <br />and the steps you are <br />taking? If not, please <br />describe your plan to <br />engage with them and <br />how you will act based <br />on their input: <br />If awarded, our plan is to share the positive impacts of this project with Town <br />residents. We are also considering vehicle decals and signage that would <br />promote and educate about the positive impacts of the project. <br />18. During and after the <br />project, what will your <br />continued engagement <br />with the community <br />be? <br />Chapel Hill’s Office of Sustainability and Resilience will be working with staff <br />from Parks and Solid Waste to track the emissions and cost reductions and <br />proactively communicate the ongoing performance of these vehicles on social <br />media and the sustainchapelhill.org website. Chapel Hill’s sustainability staff <br />will continue to partner with other local government sustainability staff <br />directly and through our shared professional networks to share results. <br />19.
