Statler Gilfillen: As you know, I’ve called several times this last week, I’ve got hours of time…for people on the board to 384
know, I met with Jim Parker then I got a hold of and met with someone who was totally on the opposition, I tried as an 385
individual citizen to get them to talk together about it. It didn’t happen. There is a lot of animosity in this decision. I 386
reached you at your electrical number, I went online and got your number. I tried reaching Lamar, but he’s apparently 387
changed his phone number. There are times when I think there is value with a difficult situation. I think what he said 388
tonight was incredibly intelligent, but it didn’t change my vote but sometimes being able to talk about more information 389
that others have, can be helpful. He was a strong opponent last time and I wanted to reach him also. 390
391
Charity Kirk: What does this have to do with developer presentations? 392
393
Statler Gilfillen: It has to do with the fact that is it possible that we on the board, since it’s not listed publicly, could have 394
each other’s phone numbers and emails to contact… 395
396
Charity Kirk: I believe there was a spreadsheet that was sent out with people’s emails. 397
398
Overlapping conversation 399
400
Melissa Poole: I would suggest because I do agree with Charity, that this does warrant further discussion that we set our 401
July meeting for a work session. 402
403
Charity Kirk: If June’s meeting is really short… 404
405
Melissa Poole: They are doing updates on the comprehensive land plan… 406
407
Cy Stober: It’s just the proposal, it will be a brief overview and then we will have a deeper dive later this summer. 408
409
Melissa Poole: So we are not going to discuss it like we have other things? 410
411
Cy Stober: The consultant will not be here; they will be coming later this summer to formally launch the process. The 412
June meeting will probably be a 10-minute presentation on who we chose, what they propose to do, the timeline, your 413
opportunities for participation, community engagement, giving you an overview of the whole project. 414
415
Melissa Poole: I just envisioned 14 UDO update meetings. If time permits in the June meeting, we will take it up, but 416
should we not have time in June then we will definitively, no later than the July meeting, address presentation length? 417
418
Cy Stober: I’ll give you a deadline, we need a motion from you all to make a recommended amendment to the rules of 419
procedure by the August meeting so that we can take it to the commissioners in September for formal adoption. 420
421
MOTION BY Melissa Poole that no later than the regular August meeting, the Planning Board will have had a work session 422
and a vote to recommend changes to the rules of procedure regarding applicant presentation length. Seconded by 423
Charity Kirk. 424
MOTION PASSED UNANIMOUSLY 425
426
Discussion was had about items for discussion at the upcoming work session. 427
428
Adam Beeman introduced Planning Board members and each gave a short biography of themselves. 429
430
AGENDA ITEM 8: ADJOURNMENT 431 MOTION BY Melissa Poole to adjourn. Seconded by Delores Bailey. 432 MOTION PASSED UNANIMOUSLY 433 434
________________________ 435
Adam Beeman, Chair 436
42
