Generally, these
meetings are to occur at the beginning, mid-point, and near the end of the process. The purpose
of these meetings is for the consultant to brief the boards on project status and findings and
engage members in discussion about the direction of the plan. The consultant will also provide
interview opportunities for Planning Board and BOCC members, among other key stakeholders,
during project kick-off. The boards will receive updates from staff throughout the process and,
ultimately, the Planning Board will provide a recommendation to the BOCC consistent with the
NCGS.
Project Steering: A Steering Committee comprised of staff representatives from multiple County
departments will review draft work products and provide feedback; provide reactions to the
consultant team on public engagement approaches and activities; and serve as ambassadors to
the planning effort, including a liaison role to respective staff and advisory boards, where
applicable. The Committee will meet monthly through most of the planning process.
A complete list of Project Deliverables and Fee Schedule are provided as Attachment "A" to the
Contract (Attachment 1).
FINANCIAL IMPACT: The consulting cost proposal to complete the Comprehensive Land Use
Plan is $188,204.
The consulting service fees are recommended to be funded with $188,204 of the County Capital
Reserve Fund authorized in a prior budget amendment, and would transfer those funds to the
Multi-Year Grant Projects Fund.
