ERFM provides local farmers and farm-related ar-sans and <br />crahspeople the opportunity to sell goods and services directly <br />to the ci-zens of Hillsborough and the greater Orange County <br />area. The farmers, ar-sans and crahspeople seek to create a <br />friendly, open market and an enjoyable des-na-on for the <br />community to meet, to purchase farm and farm-related goods <br />and services and to learn about farming, food and food <br />produc-on. ERFM’s success will be apparent by its impact on the <br />local agricultural economy, the wholesome fruits, vegetables <br />and agricultural products available to the community, and the <br />increased understanding of farming, healthy foods and local <br />food produc-on and consump-on. <br />3.Please provide a brief <br />descrip-on of your <br />organiza-on’s past <br />achievements in carrying out <br />similar projects and evidence of <br />successful record of mee-ng <br />proposed budgets and <br />-metables (2-4 sentences): <br />The ERFM is in its fourteenth year of existence. We are in our <br />third year of a Blue Cross funded, RAFI administered, grant <br />program to assist people with food insecurity to obtain <br />wholesome fresh food. We pay our taxes, comply with federal, <br />state, county, and town (of Hillsborough) requirements and are a <br />well-regarded part of the Hillsborough and Orange County <br />community landscape. We have through the years conducted <br />mul-ple fund- raising events that entailed borrowed equipment, <br />facili-es rentals, significant set-up, tear-down, and clean-up <br />requirements, and approval by local police, and the state alcohol <br />licensing board, without significant issues with vendors, <br />customers, or regulatory bodies. <br />4.Living Wage: Does this <br />organiza-on pay permanent <br />employees a minimum living <br />wage?
