I am currently a first-masters student at UNC working to complete the program in planning. <br /> This is a follow-up to my undergraduate studies at Appalachian State University in Community <br /> and Regional Planning. Other experience includes working as a volunteer on advisory <br /> committees for the Towns of Boone NC and Carrboro NC. The specific focus of these <br /> committees was and is on sustainability in economic development, and the natural environment. <br /> Other relevant experience includes interning with the Department of City Planning in Pittsburgh, <br /> PA. There I gained insights into planning issues and operating procedures of governing bodies, <br /> namely the planning board and board of adjustment. <br /> Please explain your reasons for wanting to serve on this board <br /> My reasons for wanting to serve on this board stems from a desire to create positive outcomes <br /> for the community I live in. I see the need to answer a call for help put out by government to help <br /> others. More than that, this is an excellent opportunity to be involved in practical matters of <br /> implementation, for which there is always a need to understand nuance in order to understand <br /> what success is and to be successful. <br /> How would your particpation on this board contribute to the diversity of viewpoints? <br />
