She <br /> 4 said that this is an outcome focused service. She said some stay with foster parents, some go <br /> 5 into formalized independent living programs, some live on campus in a dorm, some live with <br /> 6 friends or roommates, or some live with relatives. <br /> 7 Commissioner Portie-Ascott asked if they still have Medicaid after 18. <br /> 8 Crystal Mitchell said Medicaid is in effect until 26. <br /> 9 Commissioner Greene said her understanding is that this population is at risk for <br /> 10 homelessness. She asked what percentage of young people in Orange County are succeeding <br /> 11 in transitioning vs. those who may become homeless. <br /> 12 Crystal Mitchell said while five are in the program, there are ten who are eligible. She said <br /> 13 she does not have exact numbers to give with that, but they have been able to stay in touch with <br /> 14 the ten young people eligible for this program. She said they work with housing to provide FYI <br /> 15 vouchers, and one person is housed with one of those vouchers. <br /> 16 Commissioner Fowler asked if it is full Medicaid until 26. <br /> 17 Crystal Mitchell said yes. <br /> 18 Commissioner Hamilton asked how many people are in the LINKS program. <br /> 19 Crystal Mitchell said there are currently 20 young adults 13-17 and 10 that are 18-21. <br /> 20 Commissioner Hamilton asked if one social worker does both programs. <br /> 21 Crystal Mitchell said yes. <br />
