Board of Equalization and Review—Appointments Discussion <br /> 1 1 The Board discussed appointments to the Board of Equalization and Review, and designated a <br /> 12 Chair. <br /> 13 <br /> 14 BACKGROUND: The Board of Equalization and Review is quasi-judicial body that hears appeals <br /> 15 from residents concerning various property tax issues, including valuation and exemption <br /> 16 appeals. The Board of Equalization and Review is charged with ensuring that all taxable property <br /> 17 is appraised and assessed according to the standards required by the North Carolina General <br /> 18 Statutes.
