This General Statute establishes a Community Child Protection and <br /> Child Fatality Prevention Team in each county across North Carolina. The Community Child <br /> Protection Team's mandate is in part to review selected active cases in which children are <br /> being served by child protective vertices, and the Child Fatality Prevention Team's charge is to <br /> review the records of ell child fatalities in the County. The required members of these teams <br /> are Crewe from social services, health department, Guardian ad Litem, metliwl examiner's <br /> office, law enforcement, and others. <br /> Orange County funcdona with a merged team since the required members overlap to a great <br /> extent. The joint Team meets bimonthly and reviews all child deems and chill protection <br /> cases. This presentation covers fiscal year 2002 to date. The attached report has some of the <br /> finings and recommendations of each of the teams. <br /> FINANCIAL IMPACT: None, <br /> RECOMMENDATION(S): The Manager recommence that the Board hear the presentation. <br />
