He said that the impact of the cost of living in Orange County
9 is not exclusive to just the arts community and affects every board they have.
10 Chair Bedford said the amendment to allow two non-resident members will be brought
11 back.
12
13 3. Advisory Board on Aging —Appointments Discussion
14 The Board discussed appointments to the Advisory Board on Aging.
15
16 BACKGROUND: The Advisory Board on Aging suggests policy and makes recommendations to
17 the Board of Commissioners and the Department on Aging while acting as the liaison between
18 older adults of the County and County government. It is charged with promoting needed services,
19 programs, and funding that impacts older residents.
20
21 The Board of County Commissioners appoints all twelve (12) members.
22
23 The following individuals are recommended for Board consideration:
24
NAME POSITION TYPE OF EXPIRATION
DESCRIPTION APPOINTMENT DATE
TERM
Colin Austin At-Large One-Year Extension 06/30/2024
Jacqulyn At-Large First Full Term 06/30/2026
Podger
Rachel At-Large Second Full Term 06/30/2026
Bearman
Dr. Michael At-Large First Full Term 06/30/2025
Joseph
25
26 If the individuals listed above are appointed, no vacancies remain.
27
28 Tara May, Deputy Clerk to the Board, introduced the item.
29 The Board agreed by consensus on the recommended applicants.
30
31 4.
