I have also lived in un-coordinated commuter <br /> corridors where transportation was the single greatest drag on economic development and <br /> social equity; Santa Cruz CA. I have no specific expertise or experience, but I have long <br /> pondered the unique transportation (and social) challenges and opportunities of a community <br /> with a big hole in the middle. The triangle. <br /> Please explain your reasons for wanting to serve on this board <br /> Today I am an ex-burb resident on the edge, but out of reach of a sound OC/Triangle <br /> transportation network; far east Eno Township. My path from home to work at RTP is shared by <br /> many ex-burbanites, but is generally not served. There are pragmatic logistical and financial <br /> reasons for that. Consequently, my best contribution for the past 15 years has been to ride my <br /> back to work 3-4 times a month (which is increasingly scary). I would like do more for the <br /> community and contribute to improved transportation access and engagement for the diverse <br /> array of ex-burban commuters of OC. I am a distance runner with interest in making our county <br /> safe and enjoyable for pedestrians. Finally, I am fortunate to be an EV owner and would bring <br /> my three year experience of EV commuting to the OUTBoard. <br /> How would your particpation on this board contribute to the diversity of viewpoints? <br /> I have lived within transportation systems that enhance social equity and economic vitality; and <br /> systems that do the opposite. OC is a unique situation, and well-situated to leverage our <br /> foundation of bus, pedestrian, bike and automotive corridors to improve the ability of our <br />
