Members of the Group will be participating in the meeting remotely. <br />1.Welcome – Commissioner Jean Hamilton, Chair of Work Group <br />a.Attendees: Jean Hamilton, Bonnie Hauser, Gary Donaldson, <br />Patrick Abele, Steve Arndt, Al Ciarochi, Andre’ Stewart, Kirk <br />Vaughn, Greg Wilder, Nyah Hamlett, Rebecca Crawford, Carrie <br />Doyle, Jonathan Scott, Monique Felder <br />2.Design Standard Policy/Guidelines for Both Districts <br />a.Jean: frame conversation today around design standards only, <br />save maintenance standards for another discussion <br />b. Jean: what design standards are used for the school districts? <br />i.Patrick: primary driver of school facility construction <br />across the state is DPI standards <br />1.Has prototype school designs in addition to <br />standards <br />a.https://www.dpi.nc.gov/media/570/down <br />load <br />b.https://www.dpi.nc.gov/media/569/down <br />load <br />2.OC has own design standards – worked with <br />former AMS director to review both DPI and OC <br />standards to find commonalities <br />a.
