1. Tom – work closely with DPI – they require <br />classroom sizes and the building “program” <br />a. DPI tends to be more appreciative of the <br />designs rather than discerning <br />b. More of a dialogue than a review (use <br />DPI as a resource rather than a <br />management structure) <br />c. Department of Insurance does all of the <br />code review <br />d. DPI standards are a minimum but don’t <br />capture new design standards <br />vi. Jean Hamilton: cost – pre pandemic what would be the <br />cost per square footage compared to now <br />1. Tom - Inflation is driving the market right now. <br />No such thing as a credit <br />a. Have seen an upwards trend in cost <br />b. Used to be upper $300’s per sq foot, <br />now closer to $500’s <br />c. Seeing some decrease now (steel almost <br />doubled a few months ago – had to look <br />at alternative products) <br />d. Thinks will stabilize – chip shortage is <br />still out there <br />e. Just bidded out a project and it came in <br />under budget – may be a litmus test for <br />the market <br /> <br />3.
