Baker, ext 2130 <br />TELEPHONE NUMBERS: <br />Hillsborough <br />Chapel Hill <br />Durham <br />Mebane <br />732-8181 <br />968-4501 <br />688-7331 <br />336-227-2031 <br />PURPOSE: To consider appointing a County Commissioner or other At-Large representative to <br />serve on the Town of Hillsborcugh's 250th Anniversary Committee. <br />BACKGROUND: The Town of Hillsborough is starting plans to celebrate its 250`h anniversary <br />later this year and the Town Commissioners are inviting local groups and organizations who are <br />interested in having a representative on Hillsborough's 250`h Anniversary Committee, to appoint <br />an individual to serve on this Committee. <br />Groups that are receiving invitations include Orange County, Orange County School System, <br />Alliance for Historic Hillsborough member organizations, Tourism Board, Occaneechi-Saponi <br />Tribal Association, Merchant Groups, The News of Orange, the Chapel Hill Herald, and other <br />interested members of the community. <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: NONE <br />RECOMMENDATION (S): The Manager recommends that the Board appoint one of its <br />members, or an appropriate representative, to serve on the Town of Hillsborough's 250th <br />Anniversary Committee. <br />
