34 <br /> 1 Jay Smith said it came from one of his team members. He said they based the report on <br /> 2 interviews with the departments. <br /> 3 Commissioner Richards said they are building a diversion facility; they have built a new <br /> 4 jail; they're working on policy changes. She asked, in looking to the future, what are the premises <br /> 5 that say that the Justice division was going to grow 41% and how the county will operate? She <br /> 6 said she is struggling with what they are saying about how they will operate. She said that she <br /> 7 had a wonderful experience getting a passport with the county but asked, as she looks to the <br /> 8 future, what are the county's core services? She asked when they talk about growth, what is that <br /> 9 based on? <br /> 10 Jay Smith said it is based on the population growth of the county. He said some <br /> 11 departments were already in a deficit that would be made up. He said each department was met <br /> 12 with and their square footage was measured and the team learned about what each department <br /> 13 does. He said a balanced approach was taken in regards to hybrid work environments.
