51
1 Amy Eckberg said the Greenhouse Gas Emissions Inventory will drive how aggressive the
2 climate strategy should be. She said this will be presented to the Board in the spring. She said
3 community engagement is in progress and will continue through the spring. She said the draft
4 Climate Action Plan will come to the board in June. She said the Community Symposium will be
5 done in late summer or early fall. She said the funding plan is an extra step she asked the
6 consultants to do so the plan doesn't just sit on the shelf. She said there will also be a Climate
7 Action Plan dashboard that will provide real time information on where the county stands on
8 greenhouse gas and will be housed on the website. She said this will be an opportunity to show
9 where the county has been and where it's going.
10
11 Slide #6
CAP Consultant Updates
Spring
1
Inventory Draft CAP BOCC
Update presentation Approval
12
13
14 b. Questions and Discussion
15
16 Commissioner Richards asked if the Vision and Goals have been sent to the Board.
17 Amy Eckberg said they are in draft form, which she can share with them all.
18 Bonnie Hammersley said that can be included as an information item on the board's 3/7
19 agenda.
20 Commissioner Greene said she was at the Ag Summit and wanted to offer constructive
21 criticism. She said it didn't feel like a focus group, but like the consultant giving a presentation.
22 She said some of the things the consultant said could be done with tax money can't be done. She
23 said it felt like there was a disconnect and the members of the audience didn't know how to
24 engage.
25 Amy Eckberg said she appreciates the feedback and Commissioner Richards also shared
26 similar concerns, she said there will be a debriefing with the consultant. She said there is room to
27 do better, and some contextual information at the beginning of the focus group would be helpful.
28 Commissioner Greene said it would be nice to have another opportunity to engage with
29 agricultural community if possible.
