310 <br />unanimously adopted, Sberman Shelton was recommended to the State Welfare Board for <br />re-appointment to the County Welfare Board. This appointment was for a three (3) <br />year tenure. <br />C. S. Mintz of the Farm Extension Service and other representstsveis,,-of this <br />agency were present. They presented the application of George Bryant ?or.the <br />position of Assistant County Agent and recommended that the Board employ Mr. Bryant. <br />The Board agreed to meet with Mr. Mintz and Mr. Bryant sometime later in the month. <br />Burch Compton, Civil Defense Director, presented a copy of a book entitled <br />Plan for the erational Survival and Total Count Defense Pro rem. Mr. Compton <br />s a e a in or er to r ng range oun un er s pro rem, a first step <br />the publication of the currant prototype plan, would cost 300.00. This publication <br />would be distributed to all the key officials within the county Civil Defense <br />organization. The Board authorized Mr. Compton to proceed with the publication of <br />the county plan. <br />Upon motion of Commissioner Bennett, seconded by Commissioner Smith, and <br />unanimously adopted, action was delayed on the Coroner's request for additional per <br />diem until the Medical Examiners Program might be investigated. <br />Upon motion of Commissioner Bennett, seconded by Commissioner Cleveland, and <br />unanimously adopted, the request of the Clerk of Court as to the salaries of his two <br />employees was approved. Mrs.-Agnes Allen, bookkeeper, is to receive $216.00 per <br />month and Mrs. Anne Miller, Deputy Clerk of Court, is to receive $250.00 per month. <br />These salaries were granted with the understanding that there would be no <br />pay raise given to these two employees at the beginning of the new fiscal year. <br />There being no further business this meeting was adjourned with plans to meet <br />again sometime later in the month. <br />Donald Stanford <br />Betty June Hayes Chairman <br />Clerk
