Year-to-Date Budget Kirk Vaughn, (919) 245-2153 <br /> Summary <br /> PURPOSE: To approve budget, grant, and capital project ordinance amendments for fiscal year <br /> 2022-23. <br /> BACKGROUND: <br /> Library Services <br /> 1. Orange County Library Services has received additional State Aid funds of $14,150 from <br /> The State Library of North Carolina. This brings the total budgeted funds to $114,150 in FY <br /> 2022-23. The department has also received a $1,000 donation from the Triangle <br /> Community Foundation. These additional funds will be used to support inclusive <br /> programming, outreach efforts, equipment and support for book processing. This budget <br /> amendment provides for the receipt of these additional funds for the above stated purpose. <br /> SOCIAL JUSTICE IMPACT: The following Orange County Social Justice Goals are <br /> applicable to this item: <br /> • GOAL: CREATE A SAFE COMMUNITY <br /> The reduction of risks from vehicle/traffic accidents, childhood and senior injuries, <br /> gang activity, substance abuse and domestic violence. <br /> • GOAL: FOSTER A COMMUNITY CULTURE THAT REJECTS OPPRESSION <br /> AND INEQUITY <br /> The fair treatment and meaningful involvement of all people regardless of race or <br /> color; religious or philosophical beliefs; sex, gender or sexual orientation; national <br /> origin or ethnic background; age; military service; disability; and familial, residential <br /> or economic status. <br /> Health Department <br /> 2. ARPA Workforce Development: The Orange County Health Department has received a <br /> grant for $40,000 in American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) Workforce Development Funds <br /> from the Guilford County Health Department to assist in the training and professional <br />
