1 <br /> ORANGE COUNTY <br /> BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br /> ACTION AGENDA ITEM ABSTRACT <br /> Meeting Date: March 7, 2023 <br /> Action Agenda <br /> Item No. 8-m <br /> SUBJECT: Supplementary Application Questions for the OWASA Board of Directors <br /> DEPARTMENT: Board of Commissioners <br /> ATTACHMENT(S): INFORMATION CONTACT: <br /> Proposed Supplementary Application Clerk's Office, 919-245-2130 <br /> Questions for the OWASA Board of <br /> Directors <br /> PURPOSE: To consider approving proposed supplementary questions for applicants seeking <br /> County appointment to the Orange Water and Sewer Authority (OWASA) Board of Directors. <br /> BACKGROUND: At the November 11, 2022 Work Session, members of the Board of County <br /> Commissioners expressed interest in updating the application questions for the OWASA Board of <br /> Directors and implementing an interview process for applicants to that Board. Since that time, <br /> staff has worked with BOCC Chair Jamezetta Bedford and the County's current OWASA <br /> appointees to create application questions specific to the OWASA Board of Directors. <br /> The proposed supplementary application questions for the OWASA Board of Directors are <br /> attached for Board consideration. <br /> If approved, the attached questions will be converted to an online application through the existing <br /> boards and commissions database. The questions would be coupled with the County's standard <br /> volunteer application for individuals seeking appointment to the OWASA Board. <br /> FINANCIAL IMPACT: There is no financial impact associated with this item. <br /> SOCIAL JUSTICE IMPACT: There is no Orange County Social Justice Goal associated with this <br /> item. <br /> ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT: There is no Orange County Environmental Responsibility Goal <br /> impact associated with this item. <br /> RECOMMENDATION(S): The Manager recommends that the Board approve the proposed <br /> supplementary application questions for the OWASA Board of Directors. <br />
