"RISKS AND RESPONSE: NUCLEAR TERRORISM IN THE TRIANGLE"
PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT
No one wants to think about a chemical, biological or nuclear terrorist attack on our
North Carolina home. But the best way to prevent them is to be prepared.
That's why the Orange and Chatham County Boards of Comissioners are holding a
regional conference entitled, "Risks and Response: Nuclear Terrorism in the Triangle,"
Thursday, May 2"d, 7:30pm, at the William Friday Center in Chapel Hill.
In the event of a regional emergency, how will parents get their kids out of school? How
will people at nursing homes get to safety? Will medical care and qualified practitioners
be available? How will real estate values be affected? What will happen to livestock?
Will people be able to leave the area before being affected? The answers to these and
many other questions will be addressed with local and national experts including The
Union of Concerned Scientists' David Lochbaum.
"Risks and Response: Nuclear Terrorism in the Triangle" is free and open to the public.
It takes place Thursday, May 2"d at 7:30pm at the Friday Center in Chapel Hill. For more
information, call 919-245-2300.
