2 <br /> The Board has previously approved the composition of the archRect selection committee, the <br /> two planning committees (interior and exterior) and the development process proposed for the <br /> Justice Faci diss Expansion. However, determination of a design preference, particularly as it <br /> respects the parking facilities will be required at such time the Board is prepared to proceed <br /> further with the expansion initiatives. As a reminder, parking options identifed at this time <br /> include'. <br /> 1. Parking facilities integrated into each phase of courthouse expansion, beginning <br /> with the Phase II (Phase I includes only underground secured parking for judicial <br /> officials and was referenced as Option 8 in the original master plan report). <br /> 2. Separate parking deck situated in the approximate location of the existing Sheriffs <br /> office. (Referenced as Option A in the original master plan report. Commissioners <br /> have previously supported leaving the Sheriffs building intact and not placing a <br /> free-standing deck on this site.) <br /> 3. Separate parking deck situated in the approximate location of the existing <br /> Government Services Center Annex parking lot. (Included in the expanded master <br /> plan.) <br /> FINANCIAL IMPACT: The Board may recall that funds for planning the project are available in <br /> the 2001-2011 Capital Investment Plan. The proposed 2002-2012 CIP includes funding via <br /> alternative financing for Phase I construction as it was originally proposed. <br /> RECOMMENDATION(S): The Manager recommends that the Board receive the information <br /> and provide direction to staff as maybe appropriate. <br />
