20
1 Slide #10
Recommendation for Tonight
The Manager recommends the Board:
1. Conduct the public hearing and accept the Planning
Boardlstaff recommendations and publiccomment;
• Public hearing was advertised as required by State and local laws
2. Close the public hearing;
3. Deliberate as desired; and
d. Vote to approve the Statement of Consistency (Attachment
1)and Ordinance Amending the Unified Development
Ordinance(Attachment 2), as presented.
OR
Vote to deny the staff-initiated text amendment, due to a
stated reason that the request is inconsistent with the goals
and objectives of the Orange County Comprehensive Plan.
GRANGE COUNTY
2
3
4 Slide #11
Questions from Commissioners
Public Comments
ORANGE COUNTY
N)ORTI I CAR01_INA
5
6 Commissioner Greene clarified that if there was a 4,000 square ft. dwelling, the ADU could
7 be 2,000 square ft.
8 Cy Stober said yes.
9 Commissioner Hamilton said the ADU could be bigger than the primary dwelling.
10 Cy Stober said if a larger dwelling were to be built on property with an existing dwelling,
11 the existing dwelling would then have to be operated as the accessory dwelling unit.
12 Commissioner Hamilton asked if there should there be space requirements for parking,
13 since ADUs can potentially hold many people.
14 Cy Stober said the same parking standards would apply based on bedrooms per dwelling
15 unit. He said the occupancy of the dwelling would be based on the utility capacity and
16 Environmental Health requirements.
17 Commissioner Hamilton said this isn't clear from the amendments here.
18 Cy Stober said staff will follow up with another text amendment to make that clear.
19 Vice Chair McKee asked if impervious surface requirements would still be in effect.
