Year-to-Date Budget Kirk Vaughn, (919) 245-2153 <br /> Summary <br /> PURPOSE: To approve budget, grant, and capital project ordinance amendments for Fiscal Year <br /> 2022-23. <br /> BACKGROUND: <br /> Visitors Bureau Fund — Economic Development <br /> 1. The Visitors Bureau is requesting use of$190,000 of its available unassigned fund balance <br /> for tourism initiatives. These funds will be utilized to add trolley transit for the 2023 Uproar <br /> Arts Festival, develop a strategic destination and tourism plan, continue business <br /> marketing and advertising strategies, and build on leisure tourism advertising. <br /> This budget amendment provides for the $190,000 appropriation from the Visitors Bureau <br /> Unassigned Fund Balance. With this appropriation, $190,864 will remain in reserves, which <br /> represents 15% of the budgeted expenditures. <br /> SOCIAL JUSTICE IMPACT: The following Orange County Social Justice Goal is <br /> applicable to this item: <br /> • GOAL: ENSURE ECONOMIC SELF-SUFFICIENCY <br /> The creation and preservation of infrastructure, policies, programs and funding <br /> necessary for residents to provide shelter, food, clothing and medical care for <br /> themselves and their dependents. <br /> Health Department <br /> 2. The Health Department has received an additional $2,362 in State funding for the Family <br /> Planning Program. These funds will be used to purchase additional family planning <br /> methods based on the needs of the community, in order to have all family planning methods <br /> on hand to distribute as needed. <br />
