Installation of a <br />photovoltaic system will not only significantly offset The <br />ArtsCenter’s utility costs, but also, through Net Metering, a <br />utility billing system, The ArtsCenter, would receive credit on its <br />monthly electric bills for the excess electricity it adds to the <br />grid. This project will enable The ArtsCenter to become <br />impervious to unknowable utility rate increases. The solar <br />panels have a 25-year warranty and in general, these types of <br />panels can last up to 40 years. Therefore, the cost reduction as <br />well as credits could take place for up to four decades. <br /> <br />25. NC Solar Now also works with NC Green Power, <br />an organization which connects people to renewable energy <br />and carbon offset projects.
