For how many years will this <br />emissions reduction take place <br />as a result of your project? <br />Please consider the expected <br />lifetime of the <br />technology/program/impact <br />etc. <br />The solar panels installed by NC Solar Now come with a 25-year <br />warranty as well as panel performance guarantee of 30 years, <br />and a life expectancy of closer to 40 years. <br /> <br />22. Please describe the location of <br />the emissions reduction. <br />Where would fossil fuels have <br />been burned if not for your <br />project? For projects creating <br />electricity usage reductions, it <br />can be difficult to determine <br />the location of the power <br />produced. Please feel free to <br />state “Grid-tied electricity <br />reduction” <br />Because the solar panels will create a new energy source for <br />The ArtsCenter, the building would no longer be tied to the <br />grid. In fact, any power created but not used by The ArtsCenter <br />can be returned to the grid and will help reduce the greater <br />community’s reliance on fossil fuels. <br />23. Please describe any other <br />aspect of your project that is <br />relevant to the amount of <br />emissions that it will reduce or <br />avoid. <br />Standard commercial solar panels have a performance <br />warranty of 20 - 25 years. The Q-Cell 480-watt module has a <br />performance warranty of 30 years. In other words, this panel <br />will still be producing approximately 82% of its year-one <br />production in year 30. Furthermore, the Q-Cell 480 is a bi-facial <br />module, which means it has solar cells on the back of the panel <br />to capture the energy that passes through and reflects from the <br />surface beneath that would otherwise be lost. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Criterion 3 - Efficient use of Funds <br />1.
