P a g e 9 o f 23

Please name the action items
from each relevant plan that best
align with your proposed project:

This proposed project aligns with the above plan(s) in the following
ways:

Carrboro’s plan recommends a goal of a 50% reduction in per
capita greenhouse gas emissions by 2025, cutting the carbon
footprint in half over the next decade for the entire community,
Town operations, the buildings and transportation “sectors’, and
ultimately each resident and business.

By thoughtfully repurposing an existing building, strategically
located within walking distance to downtown Carrboro, The
ArtsCenter is practicing sustainable development. Green design
elements included in the renovation include more windows, solar
tubes and skylights for natural light as well as LED lighting fixtures.
The interior spaces are purpose built and adaptable, suited for
modern technologies. Through funding received from Orange
County, we will install EV charging stations as well as E-bike
charging stations. This project adds to these initiatives and further
decreases the carbon footprint of the new building. According to
the National Renewable Energy Laboratory, 1,00 kWh of electricity
using solar panels will reduce greenhouse emissions by more than
1,400 pounds of carbon dioxide, including 8 lbs. of sulfur dioxide
and 5 lbs. of nitrogen oxide.

Collaborators and Partners

In some projects, collaborators and partners provide essential capacity and connections. If collaborators
or partners are an essential part of your project whether or not they are receiving grant funds, please
use this section to provide more details. If you are not working with collaborators or partners, please
feel free to write N/A in this section and move to the Social Justice and Racial Equity section.
13. Please describe one to three
key partnerships/collaborations
that add the most value to the
success of the proposed
project:

DocuSign Envelope ID: C0D5A342-081F-45AE-AA47-729B899D75EC
