9 <br /> Brief Statement of Board/Commission's Assigned Charge and Responsibilities. <br /> • Raise awareness about residents' rights issues. <br /> • Assist the Ombudsman in grievance resolution regarding resident rights <br /> issues. <br /> • Make official unannounced quarterly visits to each nursing home. <br /> • Remain informed about living conditions and quality of life for residents living <br /> in Orange County nursing homes. <br /> • Prepare and submit official reports on visits to nursing homes. Approved <br /> reports are posted on the county website. <br /> • After visitation is complete, CAC members meet with administrators or <br /> designee. <br /> • Work with the County Department on Aging and the Triangle J Ombudsman <br /> regarding programs to improve living conditions and quality of life for <br /> residents of nursing homes. <br /> • Serve as an influencer to activate the community to support and improve <br /> quality of life for older adults living in nursing homes. Facilitate engagement of <br /> community volunteers for this purpose. <br /> • Promote activities in nursing homes that support resident well-being and <br /> reduce social isolation. <br /> What are your Board/Commission's most important accomplishments? <br /> Nursing Home visits resumed in July 2022. Covid Training was provided by the <br /> Triangle J Ombudsman prior to the resumption of visitations. Training included <br /> Infection prevention and control, personal protective equipment, and hand <br /> hygiene <br /> List of Specific Tasks, Events, or Functions Performed or Sponsored Annually. <br /> • Attended Triangle J Leadership trainings as well as other mandated trainings <br /> and completed assigned readings. <br /> • Resumed site visits July 2022, reporting, and attending business meetings. <br /> • Partnered with the OC Department of Aging to implement objectives from the <br /> 2017-2022 Master Aging Plan. An example is objective 3.5: Activate the <br /> community to support and improve the quality of life for older adults living in <br /> long-term care settings. <br /> • Resumed recruitment for the CAC. <br />
