Durham-Chapel Hill-Carrboro Metropolitan Plan Organization Annual Report <br /> The Board received a presentation on Durham-Chapel Hill-Carrboro Metropolitan Planning <br /> Organization Annual Report. <br /> BACKGROUND: The Durham-Chapel Hill-Carrboro Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) <br /> is the regional transportation planning agency in North Carolina's western Triangle. In cooperation <br /> with the North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT), the MPO is responsible for the <br /> planning and programming of all modes of transportation including highways, public transit, <br /> freight, bicycles, and pedestrians. The MPO's work is regionally based, but community focused. <br /> The MPO formulates and implements plans that will improve life locally and ensure that plans <br /> reflect the expressed needs of its member communities.
