11. Update on reappointment of Senior Tar Heel delegates - Delegate is Dick White and Alternate <br /> delegate is Keith Cook, but he has not actively participated due to health issues. <br /> a. Vibeke Talley is willing to be the alternate. <br /> 2022-27 Master Aging plan <br /> 12.Age My Way NC summit <br /> a. Age My Way survey httl2s://survey.cmix.com/69c2abe3lg10df6lt/en-us <br /> b. Governor Cooper spoke and it is anticipated that he will be submitting a resolution for NC to <br /> sign on to be an Age-Friendly state. <br /> c. Orange County Department on Aging and the BOCC signed in 2016 for us to be the first Age <br /> Friendly county in NC. <br /> d. NC is 8th in the US for number of seniors. <br /> 13. Reflections on MAP presentation to the BOCC <br /> 14. MAP workgroups are finishing up their first quarter meetings and development of Year One 2022- <br /> 27 MAP priorities. <br /> 15. On-going recruitment for new MAP intern or contract staff person <br /> a. Janice talked about need for a PhD student who can be with the department for 2/3 years.We <br /> are also recruiting a couple interns to work with Project EngAGE and Wellness. <br /> b. Heather shared that she knows of a MPH student who can work 200 hours. This student will be <br /> available from Dec 2022 to May 2023 as part of a practicum. <br /> 16. Fall meeting of the MAP Steering Committee -tentative for Nov. 4 <br /> 17. Diversity, Equity and Inclusion -outreach to underserved communities, communities of color and <br /> faith based organizations <br /> a. New part time temp staff, Clayton Foster,will be coordinating our outreach efforts. This <br /> position is being funded through ARPA funds. <br /> b. Reaching back to community and faith based organizations. Send letter and survey for needs. <br /> Explore ways to reconnect and collaborate. <br /> c. 150 faith based organizations were identified in our county by a previous intern. Prior to the <br /> pandemic these organizations were invited to a quarterly breakfast hosted by UNC Healthcare <br /> - Hillsborough Campus to provide a time for OCDoA to share information and provide <br /> resources. <br /> d. Clayton will also be working with Kim Lamon-Loperfido to launch the Hoarding task force that <br /> is a new MAP initiative. Rachel Bearman requested to be included in the Task Force as <br /> MOWOCNC is seeing this in more clients being served by them. <br /> Committee progress reports if needed: <br /> 18. Dementia Friendly Business Campaign -Alison Smith is the new coordinator <br /> 19. Senior Tar Heel legislature <br /> a. Dick White- STHL set priorities. <br /> b. 8 million recurring funds for staff needs. <br />
