Introductions and Announcements <br /> a. Colin noted that Janice's presentation to the Board of County Commissioners was on point <br /> and commissioners were very impressed. Heather suggested sharing link to that meeting. <br /> 2. Approval of Minutes - September 13, 2022 <br /> a. Heather requested members to review the minutes. <br /> b. Dick pointed out grammatical error in 10.c. <br /> c. Moved to correct error and approve minutes <br /> Director's report <br /> 3. Staff updates <br /> a. Marie was nominated for statewide honor-Stephen E. Sallee Assistive Technology Award <br /> of Excellence for 2022 award and won! Marie spoke a few words about the Durable Medical <br /> Equipment loaner program and gave a shout out to Vibeke for starting the program many <br /> years ago. <br /> i. Purpose of the award: recognize individuals or organizations that has made a <br /> significant impact on the lives of people with disabilities and/or chronic conditions <br /> by expanding access to, promoting, and/or demonstrating the benefits of assistive <br /> technology. <br /> ii. Statewide nomination process sponsored by the NC Assistive Technology program <br /> and its grant advisory council <br /> iii. 60 award recipients since 1995 <br /> iv. Scope of award recipients - elected state and congressional officials, speech <br /> language pathologists, occupational and physical therapists; college educators, k- <br /> 12 educators/administrators; providers of assistive technology equipment or <br /> services, at professionals <br /> b. Updates on renting a storage unit for durable medical equipment and requesting a <br /> temporary employee for 8 hours per week to assist with the DME Loaner Program. <br /> c. Heather suggested to name the DME program into something fun! <br /> d. Alison Smith moved to Lisa Meinert's position in Aging Transitions team. <br /> e. Lisa Meinert is now the Passmore Facility Manager. <br /> f. Allie Burress has moved to the Volunteer Coordinator position. <br />
