Boards and Commissions Selection Schedule, Interim Assignments and Alliance <br /> 11 Vacancy <br /> 12 The Board: <br /> 13 1. Extended the current boards and commissions assignments for members of the Board of <br /> 14 Commissioners until both the appointment of a new Commissioner and the Board's approval <br /> 15 of 2023 assignments occur; and <br /> 16 2. Selected Board members to serve in the interim on boards and commissions assigned to <br /> 17 Commissioner Renee Price based on her stepping down to begin serving in the North Carolina <br /> 18 General Assembly. <br /> 19 <br /> 20 BACKGROUND: Members of the Board of Commissioners serve on various County and County- <br /> 21 related boards and commissions. Typically, Board members indicate their desire to continue <br /> 22 serving on specific boards or commissions or their desire to make changes in December of each <br /> 23 year. <br /> 24 <br /> 25 Due to the upcoming BOCC vacancy created by Commissioner Price's resignation, it has been <br /> 26 proposed that Board members remain in their current boards and commissions assignments until <br /> 27 a new Commissioner is appointed to the Board. <br /> 28 <br /> 29 Additionally, Commissioner Price currently serves on seven (7) boards and commissions as the <br /> 30 BOCC representative. At this time, staff recommends temporarily filling the upcoming vacancies <br /> 31 for the following boards: <br /> 32 1. Durham Technical Community College Board of Trustees <br /> 33 a. Upcoming meeting dates <br /> 34 i. Student Success Committee <br /> 35 1. January 9, 2023 and February 6, 2023 from 4:00-5:15 pm (virtual) <br /> 36 ii. Workforce and Economic Development Committee <br /> 37 1. January 19, 2023 from 3:00-4:00 pm (virtual) <br /> 38 iii. Budget, Finance, and Infrastructure Committee <br /> 39 1. February 14, 2023 from 3:30-5:00 pm (virtual) <br /> 40 iv. Board of Trustees Meeting <br /> 41 1. February 21, 2023, Time To Be Determined (virtual) <br /> 42 2.
