There is limited analysis of this category at this time, the <br />high and low deflection rates for this category, therefore, are conservatively set at 10% and 5%, <br />respectively. <br /> <br />Results <br />The final step in the process of determining the number of episodes that could be served by the new <br />Facility each month is generating a mid-point estimate. The mid-point estimate that results from this <br />process is approximately 400 episodes per month. <br />The mid-point estimate is derived by multiplying the number of episodes from Table 1 by the deflection <br />rates in Table 2. This results in two estimates: a high estimate and a low estimate. Combining these <br />estimates produces a mid-point estimate that is shown in Table 3. <br />It should be noted that the mid-point estimate is not the average of the total numbers. The reason for this <br />is that the high and low deflection rate values are applied to each stakeholder/episode type and the result <br />then summed across all categories. <br />Table 3 presents the mid-point estimates in detail for each stakeholder/episode type. The two right-most <br />columns of Table 3 show the high and low value for each stakeholder. Totals for all stakeholders are <br />presented at the bottom of the columns. <br />Figure 3. It is important to gain an understanding of the <br />demographic breakdown by age, gender, ethnicity, and race. We tried to develop such a breakdown. <br />However, data were lacking or simply required too much analysis for our purposes. The most complete <br />data we could compile was data by age.
