Boards and Commissions —Appointments <br /> The Board approved the Boards and Commissions appointments as reviewed and discussed <br /> during the October 25, 2022 Work Session. <br /> i. Opioid Advisory Committee— Composition Amendment <br /> The Board approved the addition of a County Manager Designee from the Department on Aging <br /> to the Opioid Advisory Committee, as discussed at the October 25, 2022 Work Session. <br /> 9. County Manager's Report <br /> Bonnie Hammersley said there will be a work session on November 10th. She said the <br /> agenda will include the Orange County Partnership to End Homelessness 2022 Point-In-Time <br /> Count Update, the Food Council Memorandum of Understanding Agreement Renewal and the <br /> Food Assessment Report, discussion on the Advisory Board Policy, and review of upcoming <br /> boards and commissions appointments. She said the Emergency Housing Assistance Program <br /> item planned for November loth will move to November 15th. She brought the information items <br /> to their attention, and noted that the Request for Qualifications for a Consultant for School <br /> Facilities Assessment and Optimization will be released tomorrow to the public for solicitation of <br /> interested parties. <br /> 10. County Attorney's Report <br /> John Roberts said the General Assembly continues to meet in this session, but has made <br /> no decisions. He said he believes Republicans will continue to meet to keep the session alive in <br /> hopes of reaching a supermajority in the midterm elections in order to override some of the <br /> Governor's vetoes. <br /> 11. *Appointments <br /> a. Opioid Advisory Committee—Appointments Discussion <br /> The Board discussed and approved initial appointments to the non-designated positions on the <br /> Opioid Advisory Committee. <br /> BACKGROUND: The charge and composition of the Opioid Advisory Committee were <br /> established at the Board's September 6, 2022 Business Meeting. The Committee is charged to <br /> discuss opioid-related health concerns and issues impacting the residents of Orange County and <br /> advise the Board of Commissioners on options to expend funds to remedy opioid impacts. The <br /> Committee will also plan and host one annual meeting open to the public to receive input from <br /> municipalities on proposed uses of the settlement funds and to encourage collaboration between <br /> local governments. <br /> The Board of County Commissioners appoints seven (7) members. <br /> The following individuals were nominated by consensus for the referenced positions at the <br /> October 25, 2022 Work Session: <br />
