My 30+ years of career experience have focused on <br /> helping children, their families and the community at large. <br /> have served as a teacher, coach, mentor, guidance counselor, assistant principal, and a <br /> principal <br /> in the PA, MD, RI, and CT public schools. Upon being diagnosed with a serious heart <br /> condition,(heart transplant in 2014) 1 had to reinvent myself and use my skills in other <br /> ways to continue helping others. <br /> was born and raised in Bethlehem, PA, moved to FL, but on March 31 st of 2022, my <br /> spouse and I became residents of Hillsborough, NC. <br /> Past activities and organizations have included (many which I performed while waiting for <br /> my heart transplant): <br /> Co-founding a non-profit working with children with special needs and/or health conditions <br /> (Sensations Charitable Foundation), running social skills programs for children(Synergy <br /> Center), mentored student from 6th grade through graduation and beyond, Board <br /> member of a Special Education Program at a local Catholic School in CT, member of <br /> Colchester Cares (CT) which met monthly to come up solutions for student issues, was <br /> President/member of the East Haddam Rotary, Executive Board Member of East Haddam <br /> Youth Services, writers club in FL, and in 2019 published my book Waiting...568 <br /> Thoughts While Waiting for a Heart Transplant. <br /> Past Service on Orange County Advisory Boards: <br /> Moved to Hillsborough in Orange County - March 31, 2022 <br /> Boards/Commissions applied for: <br />
