ARPA Funding – VIPER Radio Replacements <br />White Cross Fire Department will provide an update on the current status of the VIPER radio <br />replacement project funded by County ARPA funds. <br /> <br />Slide #28 <br /> Chief Nasseri said that they are almost ready to go to bid for the radios and it will be on <br />their November 1st agenda. <br /> Commissioner McKee asked if there are still issues with penetrating buildings. <br /> Chief Nasseri said there will always be issues until the upgrades and new BDAs. He said <br />that the schools were first on the list for BDAs. <br /> Commissioner McKee said he thinks the county has some mobile units. <br /> Kirby Saunders said there are mobile repeaters. He said that the BDAs are in the <br />benchmarking process. He said that should be completed by February 1st and should have some <br />installs completed by this fiscal year. He said they are also updating paging equipment and one <br />of the towers is the same tower that will be part of the larger radio system improvements. He said <br />they will be presenting those project proposals in the CIP. <br /> Chief Nasseri said they appreciate the work of Emergency Services trying to make these <br />technology upgrades happen. He said if they cannot get the calls, they cannot go help.
