22 <br /> Priority: Provide funds to activities that support other Community Development <br /> objectives and activities, especially activities that compliment <br /> Neighborhood Revitalization activities or serve public housing residents. <br /> We propose to budget$13,500 to the Chapel Hill—Carrboro YMCA to continue operation <br /> of after school programs for children living in the Pine Knolls neighborhood and the South <br /> Estes Drive public housing community. <br /> Anticipated Beneficiaries: 20 children of households earning less than <br /> 80% of the area median income <br /> Accomplishments: Free childcare for 20 children <br /> Anticipated Completion Date: June 30, 2003 <br /> $13,500 <br /> We also propose to budget $11,500 to the Orange County Literacy Council to continue <br /> to operate computer-based literacy programs to public housing residents and other <br /> lower income Chapel Hill residents. <br /> Anticipated Beneficiaries: 30 individuals eaming less than 80% of the area <br /> median income <br /> Accomplishments: Provision of literacy related services <br /> Anticipated Completion Date: June 30, 2002 <br /> $11,500 <br /> We propose to budget $5,500 to the Chapel Hill Police Department to sponsor a summer <br /> work program for youths living in the Pine Knolls, Northside and public housing <br /> communities. The youths would work approximately twenty hours per week in various <br /> Town Departments including Police, Housing, Public Works, Parks and Recreation, Fire, <br /> Town Clerk and the Library. <br /> Anticipated Beneficiaries: 10 youths eaming less than 80% of the area median <br /> income <br /> Accomplishments: 10 youths will receive job training skills <br /> Anticipated Completion Date: June 30, 2002 <br /> $5,500 <br /> We propose to use $13,000 for the cost of the Community Development Coordinator and <br /> the Program Monitor's time for administration of the three public service activities listed <br /> above. $13,000 <br /> Program Administration $4000 <br />
