13 1 Chief Keith Hayes reviewed the information on slide #21. He said that it is hard to pay for 2 all of the things they need with inflation and funding has not increased. 3 Kirby Saunders said for EMS, they also got indicators that they would have to wait to get 4 an ambulance due to supply change issues. He said they expected a lot of issues and delays and 5 those are expected to continue. He said that in the first quarter, the medical supply costs are 6 already at 41% of budget due to inflation. 7 Chief Keith Hayes said they have ordered equipment ahead of time so hopefully there will 8 not be delays when their new truck finally arrives. He said for example, there was a 3 month delay 9 on fire boots, which isn't something you can just get anywhere. 10 Chief Jeff Cabe said he was told gear is on a replacement cycle and if they wanted it in 11 the next year, then they would need to order it now. He said there will be a gap when he does not 12 have up to date gear. 13 Chief Kevin Brooks asked what the delay time was. 14 Chief Keith Hayes said he was told one year. 15 Chief Keith Hayes said the Board may see higher requests because they can't say no 16 when they receive calls but they are running into affordability issues. 17 18 5.
