8 <br /> GAP DETAILS <br /> �.� CURRENT GAPS: HOUSING <br /> Orange County has made significant progress on filling some system gaps,there is also more work to be done. <br /> Here is the current status with some gaps added from previous editions of the Gaps Analysis. <br /> PROGRESS NEEDED <br /> GAP SINCE JUNE 2019 STATUS NOTES TO FILL <br /> Income-based Some units PARTIALLY Progress has been made with 9,553 <br /> rental housing available in the FILLED Master Leasing but barriers exist households <br /> community from in the application process that are currently <br /> Town/County exacerbate the lack of affordable "rent <br /> subsidies and housing options for people with burdened" <br /> HUD subsidies, criminal justice backgrounds and meaning <br /> but referrals were eviction histories they spend <br /> not coordinated more than <br /> or prioritized and 30%of their <br /> the community income on <br /> need outstrips housing costs <br /> the number of <br /> available units; <br /> There has been <br /> a significant <br /> expansion in <br /> the availability <br /> of Housing <br /> Choice Vouchers <br /> (HCV) since Oct <br /> 2020 with 100% <br /> of vouchers <br /> available through <br /> coordinated entry <br /> Program Description: <br /> Having an adequate supply of housing that people can afford is one of the key drivers of ending homelessness. <br /> People are less likely to become homeless if they are not rent burdened and more likely to exit homelessness faster <br /> if they can find housing that is affordable. Income based rental housing uses household income to determine <br /> amount of rent paid by clients.The greatest need exists for units that are affordable for households at no more <br /> than 30%of the area median income. <br /> Program Budget: <br /> Depends on approach <br /> 4 <br />
