Extending the current boards and commissions assignments for members of the Board of <br /> Commissioners until both the appointment of a new Commissioner and the Board's <br /> approval of 2023 assignments occur; <br /> 2. Selecting Board members to serve in the interim on boards and commissions assigned to <br /> Commissioner Renee Price based on her stepping down to begin serving in the North <br /> Carolina General Assembly; and <br /> 3. Selecting a Board member to serve on the Alliance Health Board of Directors in place of <br /> Commissioner Amy Fowler. <br /> BACKGROUND: Members of the Board of Commissioners serve on various County and County- <br /> related boards and commissions. Typically, Board members indicate their desire to continue <br /> serving on specific boards or commissions or their desire to make changes in December of each <br /> year. <br /> Due to the upcoming BOCC vacancy created by Commissioner Price's resignation, it has been <br /> proposed that Board members remain in their current boards and commissions assignments until <br /> a new Commissioner is appointed to the Board. <br /> Additionally, Commissioner Price currently serves on seven (7) boards and commissions as the <br /> BOCC representative. At this time, staff recommends temporarily filling the upcoming vacancies <br /> for the following boards: <br /> 1. Durham Technical Community College Board of Trustees <br /> a. Upcoming meeting dates <br /> i. Student Success Committee <br /> 1. January 9, 2023 and February 6, 2023 from 4:00-5:15 pm (virtual) <br /> ii. Workforce and Economic Development Committee <br /> 1. January 19, 2023 from 3:00-4:00 pm (virtual) <br />
