Adjournment <br /> Joseph Jordan was appointed interim vice provost in January 2020 following the retirement of Carol Tresolini, <br /> and the role and title were subsequently expanded to better reflect the wide-ranging and community-engaging <br /> responsibilities of this important leadership position. Joseph reports directly to the Chancellor and serves on <br /> the provost's leadership cabinet. He also chairs and sits on multiple pan-University committees that guide the <br /> University's educational strategy and outreach and ensures that University-wide centers and institutes operate <br /> in support of the University's strategic plan, Carolina Next: Innovations for Public Good, and consistent with <br /> University and UNC System policy. <br /> Centers and institutes under his purview include: <br /> • Ackland Art Museum <br /> • Carolina Center for Public Service <br /> • Carolina Higher Education Opportunity Programs <br /> • Carolina Seminars Program <br /> • Institute for African American Research <br /> • Marine Sciences Program <br /> • Morehead Planetarium and Science Center <br />
