The Point-in-Time Count provides a high-level snapshot about people experiencing homelessness on one night, usually the last Wednesday in January. The Point-in-Time (PIT) Count is a nationwide, annual count of people experiencing sheltered homelessness (emergency shelter and transitional housing) and unsheltered homelessness (places not meant for human habitation like vehicles, sheds, or outside) on one night. PIT data track demographic information and trends over time.
