My research focuses in substance use; <br /> specifically have expertise in evidence-based programs for opioid use prevention and treatment, <br /> theories for understanding opioid use behavior. <br /> Reasons for wanting to serve on this board: <br /> From Dec 2020 to April 2022 1 led the work of the UNC Injury Prevention Research Center in <br /> partnership with the NC DOJ to develop an opioid settlement dashboard. Thus am intimately <br /> familiar with the opioid settlements, the process of funds dissemination, and how the funds are <br /> expected to be used. <br /> Contribution to the diversity of viewpoints on this board: <br /> I have an academic perspective with intimate knowledge of what opioid use programs are <br /> effective as well as working knowledge of the partners needed for multi-sectoral implementation. <br /> My perspective is that of a white cisgendered woman. <br /> Conflict of Interest: <br /> I left UNC for a new salaried position in April 2022 and thus am no longer working as a paid <br /> employee on the opioid settlement project for the state. <br /> Boards/Commissions appointments: <br /> Other Comments: <br />
