Design Standard Policy/Guidelines for Both Districts <br /> a. Jean: frame conversation today around design standards only, <br /> save maintenance standards for another discussion <br /> b. Jean: what design standards are used for the school districts? <br /> i. Patrick: primary driver of school facility construction <br /> across the state is DPI standards <br /> 1. Have heard the cost of doing business in <br /> OC from contractors is very high because <br /> of the OC specific construction and <br /> design standards, zoning is harder to get <br /> plans approved — could OC standards be <br /> driving up costs <br /> c. OC has more initiatives in terms of green <br /> policies and energy efficiencies than <br /> other counties <br /> i. Could we focus on DPI standards <br /> but layer over the energy <br />
