This gave me a rich perspective of the area. I have <br /> been a nurse practitioner for 20+ years and have formally worked in the area of substance use <br /> for almost 10 years. <br /> Reasons for wanting to serve on this board: <br /> I want to share my perspective as a care provider as well as the wisdom that I have gained from <br /> my patients about the broad spectrum of needs people in various stages of recovery may have. <br /> Contribution to the diversity of viewpoints on this board: <br /> I hope to bring the perspective of someone who is concerned about the impact of opioid <br /> epidemic on our community as well as the awareness of how closely intertwined this is with other <br /> social determinants of health. <br /> Conflict of Interest: <br /> I work for UNC Horizons in Orange Co.
