45 <br /> Elected Official's Guide to Emergencies and Disasters <br /> Appendix H: Emergency Declaration Template <br /> DECLARATION <br /> OF AN ORANGE COUNTY <br /> STATE OF EMERGENCY <br /> WHEREAS, describe disaster event; and <br /> WHEREAS, as a result of the above-described disaster, I have determined that there is <br /> an imminent threat of, or existing conditions have caused or could cause, widespread or severe <br /> damage, injury, or loss of life or property, and public safety authorities will be unable to maintain <br /> public order or afford adequate protection for lives or property; and <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, pursuant to the authority vested in me as the Chair of the Board of <br /> Commissioners of Orange County under Article 1A of Chapter 166A of the North Carolina <br /> General Statues and Part I, Chapter 14, Article II, Sec. 14-31, of the Orange County Code of <br /> Ordinances: <br /> Section 1. A State of Emergency is hereby declared within the jurisdiction of Orange <br /> County, North Carolina. <br /> Section 2. The emergency area covered by this state of emergency shall be <br /> (specified area within the jurisdiction; if no geographic area is specified, <br /> the entire jurisdiction is covered by default). <br /> Section 3. The following restrictions and prohibitions are imposed: (choose the <br /> restrictions and prohibitions deemed necessary; do not include those that <br /> are not deemed necessary. If no restrictions or prohibitions are deemed <br /> necessary, delete this section and renumber the remaining sections <br /> accordingly). <br /> A. Evacuation: (indicate whether the evacuation is voluntary or mandatory, <br /> describe areas of jurisdiction to be evacuated and state times and dates for <br /> evacuation; include categories of essential personnel not subject to <br /> evacuation order). <br /> B.
